Thomas Alba Edison finished the process of the light bulb that Alessandro Volta (from Italy) 

began before. Scientists already knew that when enough electricity was passed through certain

 materials, they would  heat up and if they got hot enough they would begin to glow. This 

process is called “incandescence.” But with the incandescence, the bulb was burnt, so Edison 

discovered the  materials to make a resistant bulb not to get burnt with the incandescence!
